The 2025 Central Shenandoah Valley Bike-Walk Summit is officially on the calendar. Mark your calendars for Friday, November 14th for a high-energy day dedicated to building safer, more connected places to bike and walk across our entire region.

This is the first year the Summit is being held for the entire Central Shenandoah Valley region, and is for advocates, leaders, and residents from across the Valley to join. Whether you’re from Harrisonburg, Staunton, Augusta County, Waynesboro, or anywhere in between, this event is targeted toward all in the Central Shenandoah Valley. Participation from the Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro area is especially encouraged as participants across the region work together to create a unified vision for walkable, bikeable communities throughout the Valley.

This summit is for everyone who cares about safer, more inclusive mobility: local leaders, business owners, planners, public works staff, elected officials, developers, health professionals, students, everyday riders and walkers, and neighbors of all ages and abilities.

Join the Summit for a keynote from Dr. Melicent R. Miller, DrPH, MSPH, President and CEO of Health Forward LLC. Dr. Miller brings over fifteen years of public health expertise and will share insights on how active transportation strengthens community health and wellbeing.

Throughout the day, you’ll experience:

  • Local case studies showcasing everything from pop-up projects to permanent infrastructure
  • Hands-on networking with decision-makers, engineers, advocates, and fellow community members
  • A showcase of regional trail and greenway plans with opportunities to get involved
  • An optional mobile tour to see recent projects and future connections firsthand

Space is limited, so secure your spot now and invite a colleague, neighbor, or friend to join you in turning ideas into action and shape a future where everyone can safely walk and bike to where they need to go.
