The Harrisonburg-Rockingham Metropolitan Planning Organization (HRMPO) invited the public to attend an informational public open house on the Draft Amendment to the 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan. The open house was scheduled for Thursday, April 26, 2018, 4:00-6:00 p.m., at the Rockingham County Government Center in the Community Development Department’s Community Room, 20 E. Gay St., Harrisonburg, VA. A presentation was made at 5:15 PM with the opportunity to make written and oral comments.
HRMPO and Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) staff shared the amended Long-Range Transportation Plan, including the newly-evaluated and scored list of transportation projects for the region. Projects have been scored in a way that closely follows VDOT and the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation’s SMART SCALE process. It is intended to inform decision-makers and the community of effective transportation investments.
